This weekend, some friends and I decided to go to Bilene. A quiet beach and lagoon just 3 hours from Maputo. The best way to enjoy it was to go camping. It was unanimous (sorry Vasco for deciding for you. No lodge or resort for you!).
With our tens and backpacks, we left the car in one of the sides of the lagoon, took a boat to the other side, and started to make our small journey. We were just trying to find a quiet place by the water.
If we knew we had to walk as much all the way back... We would do it anyway!
Most of the footprints and tracks were ours from the day before, some other ones were from goats and monkeys. Sorry, no pics. They were too fast!
It felt like we were the first ones to get there. The sand had accumulated so much through the years that it seemed like hard rock. Just one foot over it and it would go back to sand. We tried our best not to ruin the place...
Anyway, after setting down our stuff, the sea caught our attention. Although kind of rough, it let us bathe in it. But we had to make camp!
The tent does look small, but we all fit inside it. Best of all, it's a "2 second" tent. Why? Because it takes 2 seconds to put it up! Believe it or not, just a minute or so to pack it all up.
The scenery was so good that we just had to walk around and explore. Dunes and washed away junk was all we found, aside from loads of crabs and monkey footprints. Great looking seashells and weird and distorted wood made pretty much of the details of the scene. There was no shortage of wood, I'll tell you that.
Just see the photos for the rest. Most of the time, we just kept th silence and enjoyed the place...

No fim... depois de muita birra e refilanço... reconheço que jamais poderei esquecer este fim-de-semana!
