Welcome Note

Welcome all that arrive here, at my thoughts and experiences. Be them on the road, or be it solely on my mind, I decided to share them with you, fellow friend and fellow stranger. Hope you enjoy this testimonial record of my life as much as I did, do, and will, through time, live like there is no tomorrow...

"Scuba Diving Is The Rastafari Of Sports"

Weird name huh?

It really is! Yesterday was my wife and I's first dive. Sadly or not, it was in a pool. Here is how it went...

First, geared up and attempt to breathe with the regulator in your mouth. Kind of funny to breathe artificially while you're outside the water... Then, step into the pool and just let yourself go down to the bottom. Those first 30 seconds where strange. "Mustn't stop breathing! Breathe slowly! Relax!!!!" or something like that.

Since we'll be going to the open water this Saturday, he had to train some skills, like take off the mask, put it on and take the water out, take off and put on the regulator, un-gear and re-gear up, swim a bit, practice signals, and so on and so forth. Can't wait for the open sea!!! Our instructor tells us that if we thought the swimming pool was great, we should wait until we have the company of fish, coral, reef, whale-sharks, dolphins, turtles, and etc, all looking at us funny.

As for the rastafari side, it really is. Breathing slowly and being speechless can become quite addictive. Specially if you're in the company of tremendously gracious animals, just walsing away in a continuous dance around you....
